Perinatal Program
This program provides perinatal education and support to Hawaiian women from pregnancy until birth. Support services continue postpartum until the child/children reach the age of two. Free and confidential pregnancy tests are administered and reviewed by trained staff. The three main components of this program are:
(1) Health education and/or cultural education.
(2) Nutrition awareness through food seminars.
(3) Make and Take Craft sessions.
The goal of this program is to reduce infant morbidity and mortality by educating expectant mothers on the importance of healthy lifestyles.
SERVICES ALSO INCLUDE;
Home visits
Transportation and escort to medical appointments and/or checkups
Referrals to available resources
Nutrition and health screening
Follow ups with Primary Care Physician
Medication pick up and monitoring
